He has 25 years of experience in the field of pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care. He received pediatric critical care training under the mentorship of Prof Jerry Zimmerman, one of the pioneers in the field of pediatric critical care medicine. He has held a faculty appointment at University of Washington, accumulating a wealth of knowledge in pediatric critical care medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital and in pediatric burn/trauma management at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He has been involved in starting and developing several pediatric critical care programs and pediatric sedation programs at Children’s Hospital of Luxembourg (Europe) and at Swedish Medical Center (Seattle). He also worked freelance as a pediatric critical care physician for Luxembourg Air Rescue, an international medical air transport company of critical ill children and neonates.
He is well published and received the 2014 Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Annual Scientific Awards for his work in the field of long-term outcomes of children
surviving critical illness. He also obtained during his fellowship an award for Best Critical Care Case Report Presentation at the CHEST 2001 conference.
He wrote multiple chapters in Pediatric Critical Care textbook 4 th , 5 th and 6 th edition, and in the textbook of Diseases of the Liver in Children: Evaluation and Management.
He has been a passionate educator of residents, fellows, nurses and paramedical staff and has lectured widely during his academic and private practice positions nationally and internationally.
